KIEBUEN MURDER. CONFESSION OF ONE OF THE PRISONERS. * Just as we were going to press on Thursday evening last we were informed, on good authority, that Ah Lee, the Chinaman princi} ally suspected, has made a statement, implicating himself and Lee Guy—the man who lived near Mrs Young's house. Lee Guy has been arrested. The other prisoners have been discharged. ■ ♦ RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT, NASEBY, AUGUST 20. (Before H. W. Bobinaon, Esq., E.M., and N. P." Hjorring, and L. W. The Court was opened at about 1145, there being a large attendance of the public The delay was occasioned through it being found necessary to prepare a new information at the last moment. Ah Lee and Lee Guy were present, in custody. Inspector Hickson represented the police. Mr Rowlatt appeared on behalf of Ah Lee. The information of Dective Henderson was read, stating that he had just cause to suspect that Ah Lee and Lee Guy, did on or about the 4th August, kill, with malice forethought, one Mary Young. Inspector Hickson asked leave to withdraw the previous charge, and substitute the one now read, and at the same time asked for a remand till Thursday next, at which time he expected to be able to go on with the case. The remand was granted, after the charges had been interpreted to the prisoners. —« The nature of Ah Lee's confession in connection with the Kyeburn murder h»s not been made public. There will be nothing new before Thursday next.
