MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.
The adjourned ordinary meeting was held. -on the 3rd January. Present—His Wors&ip the Mayor, Cre. Brookes, HorswelL Inner, Alexander, B jorring, and Moore. i. MINUTES. The minutes of last meeting-were read and - confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. Letter read and received'from John Donnelly, applying for two town sections, from peg No 167 to 169, Leven street. The sections applied for are close to Mrs. Millar's residence.—lt was agreed to hold over this matter till the return of Mr. Barron, District Surveyer, for information. THE RATIN& ACT, 1876. Three applications were received for the office of valuer. After consideration, John M'Donald, the late valuer, was appointed; MOTTNT IDA WATER-HACK TRUST. ... Proposed by Cr. Hjorring, seconded by Cr. Alexander—" That Cr. Inder be elected, as member of the Trust." . As an amendment, Cr. Brookes proposed —" That John Shannon, a member of the County Council, be elected.".. There being no seconder, the motion fell to the ground. The proposition was then put, with the • following result:—Ayes : Crs. Hjorring, Horswell, Moore, Alexander; No: Cr. Brookes. ■•* MUNICIPAL ENDOWMENT. On the motion of Cr. Hjorring, seconded by Cr. Inder, it was agreed that the Major deal.with, the Municipal.Endowment, and_ that the yearly rent for front section to Leven Street and Dement Street be two pounds, all other sections one pound. CORPORATION" LAND ENDOWMENT. Resolved on the motion of Cr. Brookes, seconded by Cr. Moore, that the Mayor, Cr, Inder, and the mover, be requested to examine that portion of land granted Vy the Government to the Corporation of Naseby as an endowment, and that Mr. Barron be requested to accompany and point out the boundaries, also any Cr. who, may choose to accompany. ■ FINANCE. The following accounts were passed for payment:—T. Stephens, improvements to , « roads, £6O 15s : B. Glenn, goods, £3 16a; subsidy, Cemetery Road contract, £lO.
