LEVIN V. FOXTON. Members of the Levin Golf Club visited Foxton on Saturday afternoon to meet the representatives of tin’ Herrington Golf ;Club in a match, which was played on the local links. The visitors were successful in defeating the home players, the final result being Levin 11J games, Foxton 74 games. Detailed results of play were as f ollows, local players being mentioned first :—• Singles:—L. C. Bryant lost to E. Clark; J. H Purcell beat W. A. Canavan; R. Robinson lost to W. Phillips; G. Newton lost to D. Todd, E. Sliortt beat R. A. Frederieksen; \ J. Grant lost to A. Franklin; S. Alattar lost to B. Sheen; R. Small lost to W. Bull; AV. ITowe beat H. A. Phillips; G. Perreau lost to J. MeiFarlanc; H. Dustin halved with P. Childs ; IT. Hannay beat G. Eaike and A. Anderson lost to Annabel. , Four Ball:—Brvant and Purcelllost to Clark and Canavan; Robinson and Newton lost to Phillips and Todd; Sliortt and Grant beat Fredericksen and Franklin, Mattar and Small lost to Skeen and Bull; Howe and Perreau beat Phillips and McFarlane; Dustin apd Hannay beat Childs and Raike.
