ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH

CHOIR MEMBER FAREWELLED

A very pleasant evening was spent? on Tuesday when members of All Saints’ Choir gathered at the residence of Mr and Mrs W. Thomas, of Park Street, to farewell Miss E. Lee, who is leaving Foxton to take up a position in Wellington, There was a good attendance of members‘and competitions and community singing whiled the time away. Competitions were won by Mrs E. Wl Burgin and Misses L. Williams and Bragg. During the evening two solos, ' “Sincerity” and “Alice Blue Gown” were charmingly rendered by Mrs W. M. Thomas, the accompaniment being played by Mr H. A. Hannay. After supper had been served bv the hostess, Mr H. A. Hannay (Choirmaster) made eulogistic reference to Miss,Lee’s record of eight years regular attendance as a "choir member which, he pointed cut, was an excellent example of faithful service to the church. After wishing Miss Lee every success for the future Mr Hannay called on her to accept a beautiful ivory backed prayer book as a token of appreciation and affection from her fellow members. Miss E. Lee suitably replied. Musical honours were then accorded the guest of the evening/bringing to a close a very happy social gathering. *
