PERSONAL.

Miss A. McKenzie left this week on a holiday to be spent in the South Island. Mr and Mrs H. H. HombloAV, who have been insiting Mr and Mrs W. Barber, of Motniti, have returned to Hamilton. Miss V. Barron, who has been spending a holiday in Foxton as the guest of Mr and Mrs D. R. Barron, of Robinson Street, is now visiting the Girl Guide Camp at Marton. The friends of Mrs G. HugheV, ivho has been seriously ill in a private hospital in Wellington, -will be pleased to learn that she has made such improvement that it will be possible for her to return home at an early date. The friends of Mrs H. A. Hannay, of Purcell St., will regret to learn that she is at present confined to bed in Palmerston N. Mi - and Mrs Hannay were on a motor trip in the north when Mrs Hannay contracted influenza.

Mr and Mrs F. Procter, junr., and their small son Rex, who have been spending a holiday in Foxton as the guests of Mr and Mrs ; F. Procter, of Purcell Street, have returned to Auckland.

The marriage took place at Palmerston North on December 30th, 1935, of Doris Eva, daughter of Mr and Mrs H. T. Ware, Russell Street, Palmerston North, to Steven Patrick, son of Mr and Mrs F. S. Easton, Moutoa Estate, Foxton. Mr. C. J. McKenzie, of Wellington, chief engineer for the Public Works Department and chairman of the Main Highways Board, is reported to be. critically ill. His numerous friends in local body circles deeply regret to learn of the state of his health.
