WOMAN KILLED IN MOTOR COLLISION.

MAN DIES IN HOSPITAL. Wellington, January 19. When the car she was driving along the Hutt Road Avas hit by a taxi driven by OAven Lester Jarrett, at the intersection of Beaumont Avenue, LoAver Hutt, at 8.25 on Saturday night, Lillian Ellen LoAvery, of Oriental Parade, Wellington, Avas killed instantly and the man sitting next to her, Charles Mildenhall, of Oriental Para'dej suffered a fractured right leg, severe head injuries and concussion. Three passengers in the taxi escaped Avith only minor cuts. The cars hit almost head-on and Miss LoAvery’s Avas badlv smashed.

Mildenhall, hoAvever, died in hospital yesterday morning. A tragic feature of the accident is the fact that passengers in the taxi, Mr and Mrs S. Wilson, of Lower Hutt, with their daughter, Avere on the way to the hospital to see their dying child, who, however, died before their arrival.
