CORRESPONDENCE.
(To The Editpr).
Sir,r—l do not knoAv whether Mr J. Ldnklater, the Nationalist candidate, intends to visit Foxton or not during the course of his election campaign-—we have seen so little of him that possibly he has forgotten such a place as Foxton and so I would like to ask him through your columns if the afforestation work at Waitarere which he is so fond of referring to as a “national asset” is on Government or private land and if the latter, hoAV and when do the trees become a “national asset.” Would Mr Linklater also tell us Avhy afforestation work was stopped at Tangimoana. It certainly looks, Sir, as if Mr Nairn knew * something about the business when he told a reporter recently that afforestation on the coastal belt \yould only result in failure. —Yours, etc. ELECTOR.
