ALL SAINTS’ CHOIR.

SUCCESSFUL DANCE. A most enjoyable dance, organised by the members of All Saints’ Choir, was held in the Masonic Hall on Thursday evening. There was an excellent attendance and all present thoroughly enjoyed the evening’s entertainment. Interspersed with the dancing were the following items: —

(Song: “The Farmer’s Boy,” and “The Old Bargee. ” by Mr C. M. Cronquest; duet: .“II Travatore,” and “Till Dawn,” Mr and Mrs W. M. Thomas; song: “The Silver Ring T. Gave You,” and “I Heard you Singing,” by Mr C. Watkins; an octette: “Here’s Health Unto His Majesty,” choir members: Mesdames W. M. Thomas and H. A. Hannay; Misses R. Thane, M. Symons; and Messrs B. Collins, R. J. Marston, H. A. Hannay and J. Thane. Song: “June’s First Rose.” and “The False Prophet,” Mrs H. A. Hannay.

The accompaniments for the vocal numbers were played by Mesdames W. M. Thomas and R. N. Speirs and Messrs J. T. Edwards and H. A. Hannay.

Dance music was supplied by Billy Larkins and extra numbers were played by Mr Edwards and a novelty band comprised of the following choir members: — Messrs H. A. Hannay (piano), R. Small (violin), B. Collins (banjo), J. Thane (kazoo); Mesdames H. A. Hannay (vocal), W. M. Thomas (kazoo), and Misses N. Woods (ukelele), M, Symons, and R. Thane (Ikazoos), Mr B. Collins capably officiated as M.iC. Several novelty dances were held and resulted as follows: —

Lucky Gay Gordons: Mr J.. T. Edwards and partner; monte carlo: Mrs W. M. Thomas and Mr W- Rollson ; spot waltz: Miss R. Thane and Mr H. A. Hannay; waltzing competition: Mrs H. A. Ifannay and Mr G. Wilson. The waltzing competition was judged by Messrs F, Woods and J. Sandam. (Palmerston North). After a tasty supper, dancing was resumed and continued to a late hour.

The committee responsible for the dance which to thanfc all those who assisted in any way towards making the function such a success.
