MAORI BOY’S DEATH.
Te Kuiti, May 11. A Maori boy, Nelson Tepu, aged nine, was burned to death in a whare about one and a half miles from Matai camp, near Mangapchi. Two young boys were sleeping in the whare, which was about 20 ft. from that in which their elders slept. The whare took on fire between 10 and 12 p.m. on Thursday. The younger boy, aged five, years, managed to escape but Nelson Tepu was trapped. His father, Jack Tepu, resides at Waihiha.
