MR. GEO. YOUNG FAREWELLED.
BY N.Z. WOOLPACK AND TEXTILES, LTD. . A pleasant little ceremony took •place at N.Z. Woolpack and Textile’s factory yesterday afternoon, when, for a short time, the machinery was stopped and employees foregathered to bid farewell to Mr Geo. Young, erecting engineer, who came out to New Zealand to instal the machinery for the new industry on behalf of the makers. Mr D l . R. Ogilvy, a Director of the Company, asked Mr Young to accept a suit case on behalf of himself, and a' handbag for Mrs Young from the employees, as tokens of the esteem in which he was held by all with whom he had been associated. On behalf of the company, Mr Ogilvy thanked Mr Young for the capable manner in which he had carried out his job, and referred to the pleasant association with him over a period of twelve months. Tt Was to a very large extent, he said, due to Mr Young’s patience and skill in the installation of the machinery and training of the staff that the factory was working so smoothly to-day. They all regretted Mr Young’s departure and wished him bon voyage and health and prosperity for the future. Mr Young suitably acknowledged the presentations and thanked the employees for their tokens of esteem and Mr Ogilvy for his remarks. His stay in Foxton had been a very pleasant one, lie said, and he would be sorry to sever his connection with the many friends he had made here.
Mr Young intends leaving Foxton on Monday on a tour of the Dominion prior to returmng to the Homeland. He will probably visit India, where he has spent many years, en route.
