MISHAP WHILE CRANKING CAR
Auckland, October 28. A compound fracture of the right leg was received by Mr C. Jacobsen, aged 45, of Great South Road, Otahuhu, when he was 'knocked down and dragged by a delivery van after cranking it. He was caught under the front axle and dragged about forty feet. The vehicle’s career was stopped by it crashing into a tank stand near the farmhouse. Several employees rushed to the scene and found it impossible to extricate Mr Jacobson until jacks had been used to lift the van.
