KINGSFORD SMITH READY TO HOP OFF.
Sydney, October 19. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and Captain P. G. Taylor left Sydney for Brisbane shortly after noon today, having been delayed through the necessity to replace a broken wireless aerial. They arrived at Brisbane at 3.30 p.m. Their machine is now described as being perfectly conditioned for their big flight across the Pacific, the first leg of which (to Suva) is being undertaken to-morrow. Sir Charles expresses the utmost confidence in the success of the flight.
