Miss G. Coley, of Foxton, is on a holiday visit to Wellington. The friends of Air Jas. Ross will regret to hear that he has lately been confined to bed with an indisposition. Mr and Airs R. Bullard, of Christchurch, are at present on a holiday visit to Foxton and are staying with Air and Airs \\. E. Bullard, of Avenue Road. The friends of Air E. W. Bills, who lost his right leg in an accident on the Foxton wharf on Tuesday, will be pleased to learn that his condition in the Palmerston N. Hospital, following an operation, is satisfastorv.
Air. J. L. AlcKean, of the local Post Office staff, has received advice of his transfer to \\ anganui as relieving cadet. His position will be Kited by Air D. ,J. Yareoe, telegraphist, of Alaylield, Christchurch.
The friends of Mr .George Woods will regret to learn that he again found it necessary to enter the Palmerston North Hospital for treatment on Tuesday. Yesterday he underwent a further operation to his foot, and wc* are pleased to report that his condition is as well as can be expected.
The Prime Alinislcr (Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) has announced that Sir James Parr has agreed to the Government’s request that he should continue to act as High Commissioner for New Zealand in London for a further twelve months as from next December. Within the next live months two of the principal officers of the Police Force at Palmerston North are to retire on the completion of long and faithful service. They are Inspector P. Harvey, who leaves Krstj and Senior-Sergeant E. J. Whitehouse, who at one time was stationed at Foxton.
