TRAFFIC CONTROL PUZZLES

Officials of the Automobile Association (Auckland) to-day were somewhat puzzled by the plans for traffic control during the Duke of Gloucester’s tour, as outlined by the Commissioner of Police, and thought that the proposal to permit one-way traffic only over certain road's upas peculiar to say the least. No such arrangement was made, it was stated, on the occasion of the visits to New Zealand of the Prince of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of York.
Nothing had yet been hoard in Auckland concerning the Commissioner’s plans, it was stated, bid although he said that an effort was to be made to cause as little inconvenience as possible the arrangement as outlined must cause inconvenience. One-way traffic mean' that traffic was permitted to travel one way on the road only, In other words, while the Duke and his party were on the road, no other traffic would he allowed in the opposite direction.
