FEILDING MAN DISAPPEARS.

•The Feilding police advise that a man named John Howard Baker, aged 32 years, disappeared from Feilding at 8 o’clock on Tuesday night. .It appears that Baker on leaving his home on Tuesday night to drive off in his /3-seater car was in somewhat of a depressed state of mind. Where he went to for the night is not known; but at 10.30 yesterday morning a passing motorist found the car. which had run into the bank, badly smashed. He also conversed! with Baker, who was vomiting somewhat, and he said that he was going to Feilding. Mr Brockie, in charge of the Gorge road, came on the- scene, while the motorist went on to WoodviUe to notify .a garage, which subsequently sent out a car to take the wrecked vehicle to the township. Meanwhile Mr Brockie said that he would endeavour to arrange to get Baker back to Feilding, and leaving Baker to go and attend to some business, and with the idea of assisting him, returned later to find that Baker had disappeared. He did not come back to Feilding and police enquiries following representations of relatives failed to disclose his whereabouts. The police description of Baker is that he is sft. 9in., medium build, fair hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a blue suit with a dark shirt and brownish-grey cardigan when last seen.
