SUNDAY SCHOOL BIRTHDAY PARTY.

Thursday .was observed as “Children’s Day” in the Pntronal Festival celebrations of All Saints’ 'Church. The Church was crowded for a Children’s Sendee in the afternoon, Avhich was conducted by the vicar, the Rev. H. S. Kenney. Children were present not only from Foxton but also from the surrounding country districts. After the service an adjournment Avas made to the schoolroom where a sumptuous tea bad been prepared by the Sunday School teachers and other willing helpers. On the top table Avas placed a splendid birthday cake generously donated bv Art's F. S. Easton and bearing 57 candles. The cutting of the cuke by Horace Easton Avas the signal for much enthusiasm on the part of the children.

At a suitable interval opportunity was taken to express the appreciation of tlie gathering to Airs F. S. Easton for the gift of the cake and to llie Sunday School superintendent, Airs C. H. Symons (Foxton), and A[rs J. Bennett, of Oroua DoAvns, Avith the teachers and helpers, for all tlieir willing work on behalf of the children. After a short period during which games Avere played, children and parents Avere entertained with a concert programme arranged by Alias Afeta Mason and other teachers.
