ENTERTAINMENT.
GEORGE WALLACE V AT TOWN HALL. The programme at the Town Hall to-morrow and Saturday promises the finest entertainment we have had in Foxton for a considerable time. From the opening short subject to the fade out of the feature, patrons will be treated to a feast of enjoyment with comedy music and dancing, as the most prominent features. “His Royal Highness” is a typical George Wallace comedy, with the comedian figuring first as a stage hand in a theatre, and later as the king of a mythical kingdom in Europe. In his latter capacity he finds plenty of opportunity for lively burlesque comedy, and his game of poker with members of the Royal household is a joy to witness. Musical numbers likely to be specially popular are “Game of Love.” snug by Byrl Walkley; “Ship of Dreams,” sung by Frank Tarrant; and “Conspiracy,” a duet suug by Byrl Walkley and Lou Vernon. A chorus of over 100 voices from the operatic class of the University Conservatorium, Melbourne, provides striking ensemble music and a standard rarely heard on the screen. The wellknown actor, Marshall Crosby also has a prominent part in “His Royal Highness.” The imposing list of short subjects includes Ada Reeve in the comedy, “In the Future,” Appollo Grandforte in “Excerpts from Opera.” Marshall Crosby singing “South of Shanghai,” The Sundowners Quartette, “Widows Wonderful,” and Neil McKay, comedian, in a dancing dialogue turn. The Bobbie Jones series, “The Brassie,” will be added to the programme.
