HIGH SCHOOL SHOP DAY
The shop day held by the Secondary Department was liberally provided with stock when it commenced business at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Business was steady throughout the day and shortly after mid-day it became evident that the tequired sum of £lO 10/- would be mupassed.
Almost hall the amount, realsed resulted from various competitions devised and run by the teachers and pupils. The prize-winners were:—
Pair of pullets, Frank Cowley; duck, Mrs. 'Spring; dressed fowls, L Mr. Murray, 2, Mr. L. G. Potts; fancy apron, Mi-. Robson. i On closing at 8 p.m. the takings amounted to £lB 2/8. For thjs magniliecnt sum thanks are due to the many donors who so generously supported the effort with gifts of confectionery and produce, to those who provided prizes for the <?ompt'fitions, and to all who helped the effort with their patronage.
