EX-FOXTON RESIDENT INJURED.

MOTOR COLLIDES W|ITII TRAIN

Mr. James Bug]ass, an ex-Fox - ton resident Avas injured as the result of bis car colliding Avith a train at the Princess St. railway crossing at Palmerston North last evening. The accident happened at about eight o'clock. Mr. Buglass bad almost negotiated the rails when the engine of the mixed train from Wanganui struck the ear, a Singer sedan, in the rear. A huge rent was made in the body Avork while a wheel was crumpled and the glass windows shattered. The driver suffered injuries to the head, and was removed to the Empire Hotel nearby pending the arrival of the ambulance which conveyed him to hospital. All the railway crossings in Main street are dangerous at nights, it being extremely difficult to pick up an engine headlight amid the conglomeration of street lamps. Enquiries at the hospital late last night elected the information that Mr. Buglass Avas making favourable progress though still in a weak state through loss of blood.
