ENTERTAINMENTS.
THE NEXT CORNER. Sum Woods’ latest production of “The Next Corner,” adapted from Kate Jordan’s- novel of the same name, will head the bill at the Town Hall Cabaret to-morrow evening. The plot tells of a man and his wife who, through neglect, thought her affection had changed from him to another man. This gripping picture is enacted by Conway Tearle as the man, Dorothy Mackail as the wife, Ricardo Cortez as the interloper, aud Lon Chaney as Serafin, a spying servant. A Broadway comedy, “Pay Up,” and the latest Paramount News are also on the programme. Cabaret prices. Charles Jones, one of Eoxton’s favourite artists, will make a further local appearance on Saturday next in “The Vagabond Trail,” the stoi— of a hobo named Donnegan—a man who said little but shot straight. The famous three Pox monkeys will also be seen in their latest comedy, “On the Job.” Next week the big natural colour production, “Love in a Harem,” will be seen for one night only. ROYAL PICTURES. ■ Several famous vaudeville acts, too numerous to name, lake part in the comedy sequences of “Young Ideas,” the Universal picture in which Laura La Plante will be seen at the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. The scene of much of the action is a big photographic gallery, aiul most of the subjects are theatrical people, acrobatic, comedy and lion ads. Charles B. Murphy, head of the Universal City zoo, who was “Carlos Bernado,” world famous animal trainer, at the World’s Fair in St. Louis in the year when Miss La Plante was born there, supports her in “Young Ideas,” with a lion act. On Friday night “The Blue Mountains Mystery” will be screened. It is an-Australian photoplay that is different. The greatest cast and the most wonderful settings and costumes were employed by the producer. You see Marjorie Osborne, the Australian beauty, as the brilliant, but sinister Mrs Rodder. What strange secret was hidden by that velvet band that circled her lovely neck"? See for yourself at the Royal Theatre on Friday night.
