A FATAL FALL.

Levin, Jan. 23. William Wearne, aged 34 years, a, carpenter, was killed yesterday evening by a fall from a pine tree, which he was engaged in lopping. Fie was a resident of Wellington, and owner of a small farm in Levin, which he was visiting for the day. Levin, Yesterday. An inquest was held at Levin into the circumstances surrounding the deatli of Mr William Wearne, of Wellington. The deceased, who was on a visit to his brother, at Levin, was engaged in helping the latter cut the branches of some pine trees, when he evidently fell to the ground, as his body was found lying near the foot of a tree. The Coroner’s verdict was in accordance with the medical evidence, that deceased died as the result of a fracture of the skull caused by a fall fronfca tree.
