MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
A meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held on Thursday evening. Present: — Messrs Gower (chairman), Robinson, Chrystall, Easton and Barber. The Returning Officer reported the result of the recent election. On the motion of Mr Easton, seconded by Mr Barber, Mr B. G. Gower was re elected chairman. The Clerk reported the amount to credit of general account at £ll ros id and interest account ns id. The payment ot accounts amounting to ,£42 since the last meeting were confirmed aud accounts totalling ,£l2 17s 6d were passed for payment. The Overseer’s report of work done for the past month aud stating that be intended dragging the main drain next was read.
Mr Easton asked that a report be obtained from the overseer as to the condition of flood gates and that he be instructed to inspect the diagonal flood gate and if silted or not working to attend to the matter without delay and if possible to widen the outlet.
