Says last night’s Feilding Star: —The perpetual discussion touching Foxtou Harbour Board mailers was, reintroduced at last nigbi’s meeting of .the Borough Cbhncil, when a letter was receive 1 from the Foxtoh Harbour Roanl, asking the Council to appoint* a member of the proposed deputation to interview the Premier and Ministers of Railways and Marine, asking that authority be gr inted to purchase the Foxtou whiff from the Railway Department. The Mayor reported having attended a meeting held at Palm irston to discuss the proposal, and be entered a protest against Feil ling being included in the rating area. He moved that the letter be received. Cr Richmond secondedCr Harford considered it was to the interest of this district to be represented on the deputation. Feil. iug would not be included in the rating, ; area. .He proposed that, the Council appoint a member of the deputation. Elliott'favoured the amendment, as it woiild r give Feilding a further opportunity to clearly state they were against being-included in any rating area, . Crs'Penny and Burue supported the motion. By being, represented the Council was- incurring a sense of liability. The amendment, was put, and lost, and the motion carried., -
