ELTON COMEDY COMPANY.
The Elton Comedy Co. appeared in the Public Hall on Saturday night, before a fair audience, and was much appreciated by those present. Miss Elton proved herself to be a most accomplished musician, and her varied ways of manipulating the violin were decidedly clever ; the bell-ringing by this young lady was excellent, as was also the proficient manner in which she handled the several other musical instruments. Much amusement was caused by Mr Elton’s funnyisms, comic songs, etc. The sketches by Miss aud Mr Elton were highly amusing, while the pictures showu were undoubtedly good, tbe usual trying flicker being altogether missing. Considerable annoyance was caused during the entertainment, by tbe shrill and earpiercing whistling of certain pitites, evidently by way of showing their appreciation, at the conclusion of each item ; it was found necessary to appeal to the police in order to quell the rowdyism. A poor house greeted the above company on Sunday evening, when a sacred concert was held, Mr Elton intimating to the audience that his company would re-visit Foxton in the course of a week or so, when it is anticipated they will be favoured with a bumper house.
