WOMEN VOTERS.

At Mr Newman’s political meeting in the Masonic Hall last night, the fair sex were conspicuous by their absence —only three put in an appearance, although several peeped round the door but were apparently nervous about running the gauntlet between so many of the sterner sex. If women are to exercise an intelligent vote, they should not lose an opportunity of hearing the views of each candidate. Further, their presence has a good moral effect on the audience. We hope to see a large number of female electors at Mr Stevens’ meeting in the public Hall to-morrow night.
