MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
A meeting of the above Board was held on Tuesday 13th at which Messrs Gower, Barber, and Easton, trustees, were present, Mr Gower in the Chair..
The minutes of last meeting were confirmed. An account, Thomson Brothers,’ ,£lO 17s, duty on timber, was passed for payment.
Correspondence was read from the Board’s engineer in reference to contract, and copy of notice served on contractor to proceed with work was read, and it was decided to confirm the engineer’s action in this matter.
Notice was given of the Board’s intention to strike a general rate of one farthing iu the £, and to collect one eighth of a penny of the seven-sixteeths of a penny special rate both for the period ending 31st March 1909. The rate books were signed and ordered to be open ior inspection. The ratepayers list, duly passed by the Stipendiary Magistrate, was received all papers, plans, etcj. iu connection with the loan were signed and completed aud ordered to be sent to the Treasury. The next meeting was fixed for Saturday, 31st inst. at 8 p;m., and the meeting terminated.
