Dix’s Gaiety Company.

Mr P. R Dix’s No. 4 Gaiety Company performed at the Public Hall on Thursday evening to a full house. Phe audience were very enthusiastic, ind almost all the items on the' programme were encored Mr Jack - Kearns, the Commonwealth ■ come- ' dian, in company with Miss Ida Rosslyn, the favourite. Australian soubrette, were the success of the evening. They caused no end of amusement in their comedy sketch “ Bhe would be an Actress/’ Mr Ernest Hill sang “Asleep in the Deep ” and other bass songs which were much appreciated. Arnoldi was the wonder of the evening, and his balancing feats were marvellous. He introduced his great sensation “ The Human Billiard Table “which was pleverely carried out. Misses Ivy and Beattie Gallardi sang “ The Girls with a Naughty Wink,” and danced prettily together. The great musical tramp, also made himself famous by obtaining music out of articles others would not dream of. His eccentricities as a madman were also irresistibly funny. Little Vera Kearns sang prettily “Her Little Slate,” and also danced well. Miss Hilda Feilder played the accompaniments in excellent style. The whole of the members rank high in their profession, and in thanking the audience for their attendance, Mr Gee, the manager, announced chat as the company had been so • well received in Foxton it would be Mr Dix’s intention to send a company round every three months, i when the Foxton people would be able to sea the Jvery best artistes as they appear in the largo centres.
