A Dunedin Mystery.
Agnes Campbell, 21 years of age, who resided with her mother, met her death on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning under mysterious circumstances.
She left her home on Tuesday evening, apparently in her’ usual health, but did \not return, and on Wednesday afternoon her body was found in a sitting position opposite the University buildings. There were no marks of violence on the body and nothing to account for death. The hill on which the body was found is a favourite place for persons to sit on a fine day. A peculiar circumstance is that John Osmond, 24 years old, who was keeping company with the girl, is also missing. He left his home on Tuesday evening and has not returned. It is said he was seen with Mias Campbell some time later A post mortem examination on the girl’s body will be held. The hat of the young man Osmond has been found on the foreshore.
Nothing has been heard of the missing man Osmond. There is reason for believing that the medical examination of the woman points to suspicious circum stances.
