His objects, he states, are to defend his honour and that of his children, and of the late Colonel Honry — the officer who committed suicide in gaol (or, as has been alleged, was murdered), after having confessed to the forgery of a document bearing upon the case. It is stated in the " Daily News " that an organisation styling itself " The Laague of Patriots " coinknnplated making an attempt to overpower the escort which ha 3 been provided to protect ex Captain Dreyfus on his return to Paris at the end of January, and kidnap the prisoner. A membar of the League com municated tho facts of the deaign to the officers of one of the Army Corps, ona of whom conveyed tha information to M. de Freycinet, Minister for War, who arranged to dofeat the plot.
