Joseph Myers Arrested.
0 l.n - A mild sensation waa created in Wellington on Tuesday morning when the news became disseminated that Joseph Myers, wanted in Wellington, in connection with a num her of ahargeß of forgery, had been arrested at Monte Video. The news oame in the form of a cable from the Oolonial Secretary's office to His Excellency the Governor, to the effect that Myers had been arrested at Monte Video. There is no doubt that he was on board the s.s. Maori at the time, that vessel being due at the South American port on Sunday last. The course to be pursued now will be to despatch a police officer (yet to be selected) to Monte Video by the Bnahine, which is to leave Wellington on the 220 d inst., and which is due at Monte Video on the 11th of next month. After identification, Myers will probably be taken to London— as no New Zealand-bound boats call at Monte Video-* and brought from thence back to Wellington to face his trial.— Timet.
