Egypt.
The Egyptian Government proposes that the Mixed Tribunals be for only one year instead of five, so as co enable the Powers to consid r possible modifications in the system. Trouble has arisen between the Ebedive (Abbas Pasha) and Lord Cromer, the British Minister Plenipotentiary in Egypt. A number of Moslem charity officials who were known to be friendly to British interests were dismissed from office by the Khedive whereupon the British Minister reinstated them.
