I'H2 d-'Vp'oprrti tn of ibia useful ndjuiict to Foxmn has been drlnyed by rf>mie wondeiful red fapeii-m, and it is much to he ngreMcd. It is n >\v some six or seven month!] ago that the Borough Council got the Landa Department to agree to a survey, which was made fairly expeditiously, bub then no further action was ta'ten to advertise it till the end of November. Even then the applications were not to be in until a few days before Christmas, causing those who did apply for allotments to wait until the 7th of this hionth before they can be assured of their possession. This delay has occurred, and must be made tho best of; but as the plan shows land set apart for plantations, it must be remembered by the Land Board that these sections have been "applied for under the belief that the arrangements made between the Commissioner of Crown Lands and j the Borough will be carried out. To enable this to be properly done, the areas set aside for plantations must be properly veßted in the Borough, and as the Department moves slowly, but perhaps surely, the necessary steps should be at once taken to hand these areas over to the Borough, when, peradventure, the title will be good when the planting season comes round. We may add just one more word to the Borough Council while mentioning this subject, and that is, that though they will have to do the fencing, if they make earlyapplication to the Agricultural Department they would get the trees free, an item of some consequence. When it is known who hold the allotments we shall have some fur- ! ther suggestions to make.
