The Daily News states Great Britain, France and Bussia have agreed not to allow any attack to be made on Pelrin. It is reported that Great Britain intends to propose to the Powera that China and Japan shall both evacuate Corea, and the country be placed under international control. Russia, however, is not likely to agree. Hongkong papers to Ist August state that eight transport vessels left Shanghai in one day for Corea. Many of the so-called Chinese soldiers are only coolies armed with bows, arrows and spears. Many are boys. The world is at the mercy of the Chinese and Japanese Governmentg in obtaining news of the conflict, as all the information must satisfy the censors of one or other Power, The Japanese claim to have driven off the Chinese fleet in the engagement on Saturday, j •:= - ;.•; U^ The plan of proposed interhationaf intervention in Corea attributed to England is officially denied by the Government. The Chinese deny that an en* gageraent took place ißet^eekitherS and the Japaneseon Saturday.
