Despite the strenuous opposition Messrs Weddel, the frozen meat importers have sold the whole of the ship Tutakina's cargo to Germany and Austria. The House of Lords has rejected the Evicted Tenants Bill by 249 to 30. The members of the Opposition have withdrawn from the Committee of the House of Commons which was set up to discuss the Irish Land Act, as they allege that the Hon. John Morley, the chairman, has exhibited great partiality in the matter. An amendment, which was moved to the Miners' Eight Hours Bill by Mr Thomas, to the effect that the operation of the Bill be left to local option, was carried by a majority of five. The promoters of the Bill decline to accept the amendment, and have withdrawn the measure. An explosion occurred in the Newcross Post Office. It is believed to have been caused by a bomb, and the work of Anarchists. Some 400 French and Italian Anarchists have arrived in England. Numerous detectives under Inspector Melville are watching the ' London resorts of these gentry.
