Yesterday was observed by ths Mathodist congregation by a picnic up the rivar to Mr Smout's farm. They went by the s.s. Fvy, and enjoyed a most pleasant day. The Foxton Brass band gave their services and discoursed sweet music during the day. The rain in the evening caught the excur eionists oh their return but ' they suffered little damage from jt. Abou 160 to 70 persona went. by the river and almost the ■ame number by road.
