A Calculating Man.
A wonderful calculating youny man named Inaudi has been introduced to the Paris Academy of Sciences, and greatly astonished that learned body by the rapidity and accuracy with which he solved, by mere headwork, the most abstruse calculations. One specimen will suffice. M. Bertrand asked him on what day of the week fell llth March, 1822. He immediately replied "Monday," and simultaneously formed the spuare of 4800, diminished by one, and divided by
six. Mis performance^ ih algebra and astronomy were equally astounding. M. Inaudi is a native of Piedmont, and his skull is reported by Professor Broca to present extraordinary features. He is only 24 years of age.
