A Serious Accident.
« Yesterday afternoon as young Charley Easton, the son Mr A. S. Easton, was driving a cart along the Avenue, it upset and threw the lad out. With the assistance of Mr Stuart the cart was got up, the horse reharnessed, and the lad made another start for home. Mr George Hughes had been riding alongside, and having mentioned that he must " push on," went on ahead, and on looking back saw the cart at a standstill and the lad lying on the road. Mrs Aldridge, *who lives close by, • noticed tha lads position, and at once, without waiting for a hat, ran out, and placed Charley, who was insensible, and badly bruised about the face, in the cart, and then got in, and drove the boy home. From enquiries made at the house, we learn that shortly after his arrival, the lad had a severe fit, bufc afterwards had a quiet night, though he was unconscious until six this morning, when he just knew h\g father.
Mr Hamer was called in last evening and has done all that he can, but Mr Easton purposes securing a doctor from Palmerston today. The lad is so well known, and is generally so cheerful, chatty, and civil, that to learn he has met with suoh a serious accident has caused quite a eerious regrefc. _a_w_*_«_»-M________M_«B______iß_-»-»
