WEDDING.
DUNCAN—SMITH
An interesting wedding took place as St. Luke's. Uliurch, Marlboroughtown, on Oct. 5, when Mias Lilian Smith, was married to Mr Douglas Duncan, of Dillon's Point Road. The church, which was prettily decorated for the occasion, was filled with friends of the bride and. bridegroom. Miss R. Robertson presided at the organ. As the bride entered the church with her father the hymn "The Voice that breathed o'er Eden" was sung. The bride was attended by Miss Maud Smith as bridesmaid aiid little Misses. Betty and Grace Gane as flower girls. The bridegroom was attended by Mr E. H. Hillman. The bride's dress was simple but very pretty —white crepe de chine and georgette wifch silver trimming and beads. She also wore a, veil and orange-blossoms, and carried a. lovely bouquet. Miss Maud Smith wore' a dress of palest- heliotrope with hat to match, and carried a beautiful bouquet of sJiaded anemones and fern. The two little maids were attired in white silk dresses, with hats of pale pink and blue, and carried baskets of flowers. As the bride left the- church little Miss Marjorie Gane presented her with a. horseshoe. Mrs Smith, mother ol! the bride, wore a mole channeuse with black hat, and carried a bouquet of pink and blue, Mrs Duncan mother or the bridegroom, wore a navy costume with blue hat, and carried a pretty bououet. . " Mj- and Mrs Smith received their guests on the lawn, whore a marquee was erected, and after partaking of afternoon tea. and honoring the usual toasts, the guests passed into the house to view the presents', which which were a fino and useful collection, including some handsome cheques. The bridal pair left shortly afterwards in their motor-car for tl lour in the North Island. The bride's going-away dress was a. pretty check costume, with a pale biscuithat, and furs and bag to match.
