WAIRAU VALLEY v. HILLERSDEN.
__ On Saturday afternoon the Wairau Valley footballers journeyed to, Hillersden to play the return match' : with ;the HUlersden- team. iThe latter team again ~,demonstrated their sitperior' knowledge of/ : , football by winning by 15 points to nil. For the winners J;,A. Fowler scored two tries,. A., McCalluna two^ "and S. Eagan one. ' Tlie defeated, team played ■ with: determiiiation, but: lacked sufficient combination. Mr J. Higgins acted as referee. ~' After, the match the Hillersden ladles : entertained tho footballers to an enjoyable .meal'; at the ' local hall, which was greatly appreciated. Mr M. O'Leary, ni behalf of tlie WairaU Valley team, thanked the ladies for their kindness,., and cal}<jd for three cheers, which' were lustily given.
