CORRESPONDENCE

PROPOSED SEED FARM

[TO THE EDITOR.T Sir,—Reference, haying been made at the meeting of the A. and P. Association last Saturday to the establishment of a seed farm m Marlbcrough, md concern, having been cv pressed by Dr Reakes (as reported by the chairman) at the leaving of the matter in the hands of the Chamber of Commerce, I would like to point out that- the Chamber is anxious to see such a farm established, and a small committee has already been set up by the Chamber to go into the matter and report at an early meeting. The Chamber has no dosire to usurp the functions of the A. and P. or any other local association, and will gladly co-operate with the sub-committee appointed by the A. and P. Association in furthering rhe project. The establishment of a seed farm in this district-is of paramount importance, and the Chamber c.Tily included this item amongst others in its progress programme since no other local association'had taken the matter up, and nothing therefore was likely to be done.

W. J" GIRLING, President Marlborough Chamber of Commerce.
