VATICAN'S STRICT NEUTRALITY
LONDON, Aug. 1. Commenting on reports that the Pope regards with disfavor the Mannix speeches, the Sunday Express understands that the Vatican's Irish policy remains ono of strict neutrality. Mr Baltbur recently visited the Pope with a view to securing his intervention against the Sinn Fein. Asked if he would denounce the disturbances and create vacant bishoprics himself, the Pope replied in the negative to both questions.
