FIRE AT CIRCUS

PANIC-STRICKEN STAMPEDE

[Press Association.] Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received July 17, 0.20 a.m.) LONDON, July 16. A fire caused a panic at Sanger's Circus.-in Taunt-on. Fifteen hundred people stampeded for the exits. Two gills and two boys were killed during the wild rush before the tent collapsed. Many others were sent to the hospital, several in a critical condition.

The fire was caused by a lighted cigarette that was dropped, setting fire- to the tent.
