FOOTBALL BENEFIT.
A full house greeted the ReturnedT Soldiers Orchestra at His Majesty's Theatre last night, when they played the overtm-o to the benefit picturo performance in aid of the Central Football Club's fraids. _ The orchestra, for the first time since its inception, was in full strength, under thebaton of Mr C. Cimino. The audience Avers profuse in their ti.ppreeiation of the music, and signified their approval by rounds of applause. Mr Whitley acted as leader. The comcdj'-dra-ma was one of, the better .sort,. and was most enjoyable. Mis* Jeiumie Johnston, a soprano singer, sang "Awalie" with such acceptance that there- was an immediate popular demand; for niore.; \ Tiie singer replied with "I know ot two bright eyes," which again evoked a demonstration. oi popular approval. There was an. insistent request for a further encore, but the lady simply bowed her acknowledgments." Mr Scantlebury played a. sympathetic accompaniment, !
