FATHER JERGER
APPLICATION FOR WRIT OF
HABEAS CORPUS
RULE NISI DISCHARGED
[.Press Association.] (Received July 15, 10.35 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 15.
The High Court discharged the rule nisi for the issue of a writ of habeas corpus in re^poct to Father Jerger. Counsel for the Commonwealth stated that the Government was of opinion that Father Jerger's presence here was a danger to the public and a menace to law and order.
An appeal was lodged against the discharge, the Grown undertaking that in the event of the appeal being upheld it would place no restriction on Father Jerger's return to Australia.
