ACUTE SHORTAGE OP HOUSES

WEIiLINGTON, June 3. At the Returned Sbldiers' Conference a ■remit was carried that in view of the 'acute . of houses the conference urges thq'. Government to continue the protection .given' to returned soldiers by the' War Regulations Act bf 1914 against eviction from rented dwellings for a further period of twelve months as from August 2nd next. 'During 'the discussion this clan.se was described as. a bugbear to landlords and house agents, but a Godsend to returned soldiers.
