ROBBERY UNDER ARMS

A POST OFFICE THIEF

AUCKLAND, May 31. . In connection with the robbery at Runciman Post Office, Arthur Whitburn, aged 17, states that he locked the office at 5.30 p.m. When riding home on his.-bicycle a masked man bailed him up, and, producing a revolver j demanded tne keys of the Post Office. The lad gave up the keys and his bicycle. Me raised an alarm, but when the neighbors reached the Post Office they found the cash-box broken open and no sign of the thief. » Next morning the stolen bicycle was found in the gorse at Papakura. A stolen cheque was found, in Taranaki Road yesterday. The booty comprised £30 in cash and £27 in cheques.
