HOCKEY.
lIFJNWICK v. AROTEA
Great interest was taken in the meeting of these two teams on Saturday last. The game was very fast and hard, and. after a determined struggle ended in a draw, the score being one all. Both teams have greatly improved in stick work and the combination on both sides was excellent. Arotea girls are rather clever with their sticks, but the Hen wick forwards balanced this superiority by very pretty passing. Both sides have excellent' backs, who saved many hot shots at goal. The two centres. Miss Brunetti and Miss Gleeson, played vigorously and accurately, the other outstanding players being Miss Mead and Miss Hogan ; but the game was remarkable not for individual effort, but allround keenness and good team work. Mr H. liobson refereed.
