WEEKLY SALE,
Griffiths Bros., Ltd., report, having held.a highly successful weekly sale on Saturday before an audience oi large proportions. , Bidding throughout was spirited, and with a few exceptions a good clearance was olfeei-ed. Furniture was short <n supply, the demand being good. Fairsized pigs made good prices, and throughout the demand was good. Poultry maintained last week's prices. .Cows in full profit were in good request. The principal prices realised were: Pigs, forward stores, £3, forward weaners 375, 325, 30.-, to 275, small weaners 25s 6d. 23s 6d to 22s 6d each; poultry, ducks 7s 6d and 7s, fowl's ss, 4s *9d, and 4s 6d per_ pair; aged cows, in profit, £9 • spring waggon team £32, set of harness £8 ss, fencing posts 2s to Is lOd each. Prominent in the furniture lines, duchesse chests brought from £6 10s to £3 10s, bedsteads £4 10s to £2 15s, Potatoes showed a decline in price, the supply being greater than isho demand. Sacks of good tubers remised from 18s to 16s, inferior to 12s per sack. Onions brought 15s per cwt. On be-half of a client we effected a general clearance to a good attendance of buyers.
