HOUSE FAMINE IN SYDNEY.
SYDNEY, April 10. At the basic wage inquiry, house agents gave evidence that there was such a scarcity of houses in the metropolitan area that people offered premiums for the privilege of renting. The question was not so much how much rent was paid but whether a house was obtainable.
