FORMATION OF A BUREAU RECOMMENDED.

LONDON, April 8

The report oi' the Imperial Conference recommends the early formation of fin Empire Bureau of Statistics, and suggests that, the money aieeessa-ry for the maintenance of the bureau be provided by a joint contribution by the various countries concerned in a proportion to be jagreed upon. For example, one basis of appropriation before the Conference was as follows: United Kingdom £16,000, India ,£4OOO, Canada £3250, Australia £2000, New Zealand £1000, jgoutli Africa £1750, and the Colonies and Protectorates £2000.
